Update on Road Closure for New Housing

We are facing the closure of Ann Street to road traffic for the next 3 weeks with continued access problems after that.  This closure is due to the laying of pipes for the new houses.  There is no turning facilities available on the north side of the school and this will remain until June 2017.

I have been out both mornings so far this term and am delighted that parents and carers are making alternative drop off plans for the pupils.  Many thanks for this.

I met with the team who are in charge of the new housing yesterday and we will be having regular meetings and communication to ensure good partnership working between the school and the site.

The children will still be able to access the school on the footpath but there will not be adequate access for cars.  I would strongly advise that if you are dropping your child at school that you travel down William street and head along South George street, dropping off beside Grey Lodge. The children can then walk up and access the bottom gate.  Or bring them around to Nelson street and use the front gate to access the playground.

Should you encounter any difficulties or have any concerns please don't hesitate to contact me in the first instance.

Kind Regards

Mrs Curran, Head Teacher
